21 April 2010: Synchronous Conferencing

1- Overview

Today we'll discuss the status of pending course assessments, demonstrate how to embed your Unit Plan Google Doc, view some Pecha Kucha examples, and discuss options for synchronous conferencing.

2- Lesson

  1. Final Exam Schedules: (NOTE THIS CHANGE: We WILL meet by requirement the week of finals in both sections)
    1. 9 am class: Final on Wed May 5, 9 am to 10:50 am
    2. 11 am class: Final on Wed May 5, 11 am to 12:50 pm
  2. Grades: All submissions to date have been graded and should be visible in your WebCT/Blackboard gradebook.
  3. The following assessments / quizzes are ready for you to submit:
    1. Quarterly Checkup Quiz #3: This is a short quiz to "spot check" your completion of assignments in weeks 7 and 8 (2 questions - 10 points)
    2. Quarterly Checkup Quiz #4: This is a short quiz to "spot check" your completion of assignments in weeks 9 and 10 (2 questions - 10 points)
    3. MiniProject 3 Quiz: Your blog post about the Google Form you created in week 9. (30 points)
    4. Scribe Blog Post (10 pts)
    5. Screencast: This is the Screencast assignment from week 10. (20 points)
    6. ePortfolio Website Including Embedded Unit Plan (30 points)

  1. Sign up for a Pecha Kucha Presentation Time
  2. Complete all remaining assessments in WebCT/Blackboard.
  3. Resubmit any of our assessments for full credit by April 28th.
  4. Submit your Unit Plan in the ePortfolio System.
